What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2022 Ford Expedition?
The NHTSA has issued 16 recalls affecting the 2022 Ford Expedition, covering seats, transmissions, seat belts, fuel pumps, electrical systems, cameras, windows, and rear suspension. Key seat-related recalls address recliner mechanisms, missing reinforcement brackets, improperly welded headrest brackets, and bolts securing seatbacks. Transmission recalls include issues with shift cable clips and missing roll pins that can affect the Park function; prompt inspection is recommended.
How do I check if my 2022 Ford Expedition has an open recall?

How much does a 2022 Ford Expedition recall repair cost?
Recall repairs for the 2022 Ford Expedition are performed at no cost to the vehicle owner under the manufacturer recall program. Bill Estes Ford Brownsburg uses OEM parts and factory-trained technicians to complete recall repairs free of charge, and we offer service financing if you require additional non-recall work. Can I get my 2022 Ford Expedition recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be completed by an authorized dealer to ensure the repair follows manufacturer directives and remains free of charge; independent shops cannot perform manufacturer recall fulfillment on behalf of Ford. If you choose a non-dealer shop for unrelated maintenance, we still recommend returning to an authorized Ford dealer for recall repairs to protect safety, warranty, and resale value.
How long does a 2022 Ford Expedition recall repair take?
Repair times vary by recall: many inspections and software updates take under a few hours, while parts replacements (for seats, pumps, or camera assemblies) may require a day or more. Bill Estes Ford Brownsburg will provide an accurate estimate when you schedule service and check your VIN; we prioritize quick turnaround and can offer loaner options or shuttle service where available. Check our service specials for ways to combine required maintenance with recall repairs and ask about service financing if you need flexible payment options.
Does an open recall affect my 2022 Ford Expedition's trade-in or resale value?
Yes — unresolved recalls can reduce trade-in value and complicate private sales because many buyers and dealers check NHTSA records before purchase. Resolving recalls at Bill Estes Ford Brownsburg protects your vehicle's resale and trade-in value; visit our trade-in page to get started at sell-us-your-car-online.htm. Completing recall work at a certified Ford dealer documents that manufacturer repairs were performed with OEM parts, strengthening buyer confidence and helping preserve value.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2022 Ford Expedition recall?
Some recalls affect safety systems that can influence inspection outcomes; while not all recalls will trigger a failed inspection, safety-related recalls should be fixed promptly to avoid potential issues. Bill Estes Ford Brownsburg can inspect your vehicle and ensure required recall repairs are completed so you meet Indiana inspection and safety expectations. If you need an inspection or recall service, schedule appointment online and ask our service team about documentation to show inspectors after repairs are completed.
