Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2019 Ford Expedition?
The NHTSA has issued 16 recalls affecting the 2019 Ford Expedition, covering seats, transmission, seat belt components, fuel pump, electrical modules, rearview camera, power window controls, transmission gear position messages, and rear suspension toe links. Key seat recalls (five entries) address missing or improperly installed recliner pawls, missing reinforcement brackets, weld issues on headrest brackets, and improper bolts allowing excessive seat travel, which can reduce occupant protection in a crash. Transmission recalls (three entries) include improperly seated shift cable clips and missing roll pins that can incorrectly indicate the vehicle is in Park and increase rollover or rollaway risk.
How do I check if my 2019 Ford Expedition has an open recall?
You can check open recalls using your VIN at NHTSA.gov or bring your vehicle to Bill Estes Ford Brownsburg and we will check your VIN for free. Visit the NHTSA recall lookup page, or contact our service team and schedule service for a free VIN recall check; we’ll confirm any open campaigns and explain next steps.
How much does a 2019 Ford Expedition recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs for the 2019 Ford Expedition are free of charge when performed at an authorized Ford dealer like Bill Estes Ford Brownsburg. We use OEM parts and factory-trained technicians at no cost to you; if other unrelated repairs are requested, ask about our current service specials and available service financing so you can get work done now and pay later.
Can I get my 2019 Ford Expedition recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recalls should be completed at an authorized franchise dealer to ensure correct parts, factory diagnostic procedures, and free warranty-covered repairs — choose your local certified Ford dealer for recall work. Bill Estes Ford Brownsburg has factory-trained technicians, OEM diagnostic tools, and access to Ford parts and technical service bulletins; independent shops may not receive OEM recall parts or the latest factory procedures.
How long does a 2019 Ford Expedition recall repair take?
Repair times vary by campaign, but most recall repairs for the 2019 Ford Expedition are completed in a few hours to a day depending on parts availability and the issue; more complex repairs may take longer. When you schedule appointment with Bill Estes Ford Brownsburg we’ll provide an estimated turnaround time and notify you immediately if parts or extended work are required.
Does an open recall affect my 2019 Ford Expedition's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can negatively affect trade-in and resale value because many buyers and dealers check NHTSA records; resolving recalls preserves value and buyer confidence. To protect your vehicle’s value, get recall work completed at our dealership — you can also begin a trade-in or appraisal at sell-us-your-car-online.htm after repairs to show buyers a fully compliant vehicle.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2019 Ford Expedition recall?
Some safety-related recalls can affect inspection outcomes if they impair required systems (for example, rear visibility or seat restraints); open recalls that impact safety systems may lead to inspection issues. Bill Estes Ford Brownsburg can check recall status and complete required repairs free of charge to help ensure your vehicle meets inspection and safety requirements in Indiana and surrounding areas.
