911 Assist^®

In the event of an accident in which an airbag deploys or, in certain vehicles, the fuel pump shutoff is activated, 911 Assist^® with GPS uses a properly paired and connected mobile phone inside the vehicle to make a call directly to a 911 operator and gives emergency responders your exact location.²⁸ The call goes directly through your cell phone without the need for intermediary assistance. It opens the SYNC^® microphone to allow those inside the car to communicate hands-free with the 911 operator. The call can be cancelled by pressing and holding the steering wheel-mounted phone button or by confirming the cancellation message. That's extra peace of mind every second you're on the road.

Turn-by-turn directions

Don't want to buy a new navigation system but need directions? No problem. By using available SYNC^® Services¹²⁹ with turn-by-turn directions, you can get where you want to go. The system delivers voice directions to your destination over your audio system speakers, and even lets you store frequently used locations such as "Home."

Send to SYNC^®

Plan your route from your home or office computer. With Send to SYNC, which comes with available SYNC^® Services¹²⁹, you can use Google Maps^™132 or MapQuest^®133 via your computer to locate a destination, then send it to your vehicle's SYNC^® system for directions. Look up directions online and use the “send” menu on the site. Then just hop into your car. SYNC^® will prompt you to download the directions to your chosen destination and then read them to you turn-by-turn.

SYNC Services

If your car is equipped with SYNC Services^®129, this menu of features helps direct you, keeps you in the loop and generally puts the world at your fingertips. It includes turn-by-turn directions, traffic information, 411 Business Search and more. SYNC Services^® is complimentary for three years on most 2011 and 2012 vehicles. 411 Business Search

With a database of more than 14 million U.S. business listings, SYNC^® can help you find the one you want. SYNC^® will help you call the business and provide turn-by-turn directions to it based on your vehicle's location. And if needed, now with new Operator Assist, you can speak directly to a live operator when you’re using 411 Business Search. Simply say “Operator” at any time during a business search to be connected.

Personalized daily information

The radio may cover news, weather and sports, just not necessarily when it's most convenient and useful for you. But now you can get the information that interests you right when you want it – news, sports, weather, updated stock reports, movie listings and horoscopes – organized the way you want it. Register at ford.com/sync and customize the type of news stories, sports scores and other information that you want. SYNC^® can give you an instant overview of what's happening when you start the engine or with a voice prompt. For instance, you can simply say "Movie Listings" or "Check Stocks."

Personalized traffic alerts

SYNC^® can scout ahead to provide helpful on-the-road information. Register at ford.com/sync and enter your frequently-traveled routes. Receive updates on the traffic conditions or directions to where you're going. If traffic is backed up ahead, SYNC^® will offer to reroute you to avoid the problem. You can even receive text-message traffic alerts.⁹⁹

Using voice commands, receive helpful information for airlines, rental cars, hotels, taxis, weather and driving directions. SYNC^® can connect to nearly 150 different airline booking desks, 50 of the largest hotel chains in North America, and 11 major rental car agencies at the push of a button.⁹⁹
